Posted by Ben on 7/28/2010: Website redesign

We're busy redesigning the website to make it easier to find information you're looking for. Stay tuned as we get everything sorted out. Specifically, we're going to focus on Sirona's CEREC Connect can revolutionize how dentists and labs interact. We've helped several doctors set it up so far and are very happy with the quality and the time we've saved.

Posted by carol on 4/13/2010: A day in the life of a Dental Lab employee

Working in a Dental Lab is quite an adventure, especially when that Dental Lab is Lakeview Dental Lab. At times it seems like the days are all the same and then all of the sudden there's a challenging case, a new Dentist, or a sudden slew of cases all due at the same time (preferably when you want to take a vacation). I officially started working at Lakeview Dental Lab when I was sixteen. Before then I would do some cleaning or organize the paperwork. I had the chance to do this because my father Matthew Azure is the owner of Lakeview Dental Lab. Right now I only do work for Lakeview editing this website but my main jobs in the years I was there in the Lab were to make dentures and help make all porcelain crowns and bridges. Dentures are fun to do because at times you are creating something out of nothing. In the case of some full mouth upper and lower dentures all you have is a stone version of the patient's gums. At other times you have either the upper or lower and in that case you need to make sure they match up as well as look good. I really enjoyed helping with the porcelain crowns. Lakeview uses Cerec inLab to create porcelain instead of metal based crowns and bridges, and to create an entire crown in one setting. It is a really great technology made even greater with the help of Cerec Connect. This helps Dentists send images of the patient's mouth that are sent to a Patterson lab that creates a model of that patient's mouth. We then create the crown using the materials the Dentist requests. This makes for a more accurate reading of the patient's mouth, ensuring that they have less discomfort and less adjustment for the Dentists. Although working at Lakeview Dental Lab means you are more behind the scenes, it is great to hear the stories from the dentists of the patients that cried because of the happiness over their new tooth, instead of the pain of an ill-fitted ugly tooth. That is what makes Lakeview Dental Lab so great.

Posted by Carol on 10/17/2009: 12 Unit Zirconia Bridge

Because of the amazing technology from InLab Sirona Cerec unit we can now do bridges that are 12 units. Because it is Zirconia material, it has great beauty and strength. That is something you won't get from a metal-base bridge.

In this case we did an almost complete upper bridge restoration and crowns on all of the lower anterior teeth.

The ability to do this full restoration depends a lot on the dentist prepping the teeth  correctly and giving us these beautiful margins.

We first create the framework for the bridge with the Inlab 3D software. This helps us smooth out sharp edges, and correct any mistakes quite easily

Because of the large size of the bridge, a support is built within the framework to keep it from breaking during the milling out of the framework.

The framework after it has been milled and sintered.

The upper zirconia framework and the lower anterior IPS e.max CAD crowns. The IPS e.max CAD material can be used as a framework made into a full-contour crown, making it a faster way to create crowns.

The product cooling down from the furnace. It is all connected together and yet it still has the detail of individual teeth.

Beautiful!

The crowns were made to not only be beautiful but to also look as natural as possible. They fit to the curve of the mouth and according to the size of the original teeth.

The dentist said that the bridge fit easily into the mouth and that the patient loves the new teeth. This truly is an amazing feat in dentistry.

We're expanding our resources and have acquired a laser welder. This makes it easy to fix broken dentures, as well as jewelry and eyeglasses.

"We have enjoyed working with Matt and his team. They have always been able to work with our patients by getting a flipper made in one day, or a denture in three days when in an emergency. His prices are very competitive, which is important to us and our patients. It is often said that you can tell what kind of a man someone is by the car he drives. Lakeview has a smart car, need I say more?"
